Quizzard (Competition)

All the questions will be based on the theme of the techfest.

Prelims: All the participants will be shown a set of picture or a pictorial hint related to the questions and the participants are expected to write down the answers and whoever gets the most answers will be qualified for the next round. The questions will be based on the given theme and the four topics under the theme.

Ex: When Fate meets History for a Brief amount of Time the Universe unfolds. Someone who’s a medical marvel and always looking at the stars. Guess the name.

The questions will be on a ppt and will be shows to everyone at the same time. Whoever gets the most right answers will be selected to the next round.

Rapid fire: This round will have 10 questions which will be given to the teams as chits and one person from the team has to run to the board and write the answer. Whoever gets more answers right gets selected for the next round.

If 16 teams are there, then a batch of 4 teams (team of 3) would go at once, and each batch (group of 4 teams) gets 3 min to answer 10 questions.

 1 for 5, 5 for 1: The teams will be asked a question for which they have to give 5 answers and each answer will carry some points and the team with most points will be selected for the next round. Each team will be asked 4 questions (one per each topic under the theme)

When and who: In this round participants have to answer who founded/invented something and/or when. Top 5 teams will be selected for the finals.

Ex: When was the MOM (Mars Orbiter Mission)? Ans: 2013

      Who invented the petrol engine? Ans: Nikolaus August Otto

 The endgame: This round will contain questions based on historical moments under all four topics from the theme. The participants will be asked questions along with hints. The team with highest score will be the winners. The round will mainly focus on serious issues and the disasters in the past decade to raise awareness.

Ex: Which countries were affected directly by the amazon forest fire? Ans: Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay.

Who started MeToo moment in india? Ans: Tarana Burke

How many years did it take for Nirbhaya case verdicts? Ans: 5 years

Disqualification category: Use of any kind of communication devices, Use of chits, Any discussion related to question with volunteers and coordinators, Discussion with the others teams during the event.

 Judging criteria: The team with the maximum number of correct answers and points will be selected for the next round.

Tie-breaker : A set of 5 power pack questions will be asked to the teams who gives maximum correct answers will be selected.
