PRINCE2 2017 Project Management Certifications

The PRINCE2 2017 certification scheme has two main levels, Foundation and Practitioner. At Practitioner level, there is PRINCE2 Practitioner and PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certifications.

Candidates can take PRINCE2 2017 training courses via one of AXELOS' Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs) or self-study for all the certification levels. AXELOS is not a training organization or exam body and so prices for training courses and exams are set by our partners and will vary.

Purpose of the PRINCE2® 2017 Foundation Certification

The PRINCE2 Foundation Level introduces the PRINCE2 method. The Foundation certification aims to confirm that you know and understand the PRINCE2 method well enough to be able to work effectively with, or as a member of, a project management team working within an environment supporting PRINCE2. The Foundation certification is also a prerequisite for the Practitioner certification.

PRINCE2 2017 Foundation training

Typically, classroom training for PRINCE2 2017 Foundation lasts two and a half days and the examination takes place at the end of the training (this will vary depending on the training provider). You can also self-study for the Foundation exam and you may also choose to take training in another format such as distance learning. Training is delivered by AXELOS' Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs) who set their own rates.

Target Audience

This certification is aimed at current and aspiring project managers or professionals who manage projects. It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including: Project Board members (e.g. Senior Responsible Owners), Team Managers (e.g. Product Delivery Managers), Project Assurance (e.g. Business Change Analysts), Project Support (e.g. Project and Programme Office personnel) and operational line managers or staff.

Examination Format

• Multiple choice questions
• 60 questions per paper
• 33 marks required (out of 60 available) to pass: 55%
• One hour's (60 minutes) duration
• Closed book.

PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner Certification – Project Management

PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner combines agile concepts with the world’s most popular approach to project management. Developed in response to user demand, the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certifcation teaches you to blend structure, governance and control with agile methods, techniques and approaches.

Target Audience

This certification is aimed at professionals who work within a project environment including key staff involved with integrating project management with product delivery. An understanding of the agile concepts detailed in PRINCE2 Agile will also be beneficial to those with governance responsibilities for projects using agile delivery approaches as well as those involved with programme and project support functions.

Prerequisites

You can take the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certificate if you hold any of the following certifications:

• PRINCE2® Foundation (or higher)
• Project Management Professional® (PMP)*
• Certified Associate in Project Management® (CAPM)*
• IPMA Levels A,B,C and D® (Certified Projects Director).

Examination Format

• Objective testing
• 50 questions each worth one mark
• 30 marks or more required to pass out of 50 questions: 60% pass mark
• Two-and-a-half hours’ (150 minutes) duration, no additional reading time
• Open book exam (official PRINCE2 Agile guide only).
