Optimis Omnium (Competition)

Competition:

This an event where participants will be made as team of two and later on will get separated during the FUN RIDE.

Here is the catch: Wild card entry (In every round there will be a question given to all the eliminated participants, whoever comes out with right answer;(welcome back to the Game!)).

The event has 4 Rounds, (10- 40 min. each)

Round 1: Imitation game (10 minutes)

In this participants will be given some kind of cipher, codes and riddles. They have to solve the questions.

It's a written round.

A team of two is made initially, then

Total of 20 teams will be allowed to participate in the game.

15 teams will be selected.

Round 2: Black box: (15 minutes)

In this, selected teams will have two quick stages of different tasks:

An input and the output will be provided; the team needs to name the circuit in the black box.

Teams will be given with a hint in the form of story in which a concept and characteristics of the missing component are given. Teams will have to find the missing component in the popular circuit inside the black box (May be values Folks!).

By the end of this round a total of 10 teams are eliminated and we will be left with 4.

FUN RIDE:

From this round, teams are split into individual contestants.

Round 3: Oh! That’s how it all started? (This is like pick and speak but 5 minutes per each individual)

A real world problem statement will be given to contestants and who ever

tackles the right solution in the world of electronics will be chosen.

AND

An existing weird product name will be given and will be provided with 3

options of clue to individual contestant. (for which marks will be deducted

respectively). They need to explain its use and propose a new innovation for

it. (marks will be based on assessment)

In this round we will be left with max of 4 contestants, including the famous Wild card.

Round 4: El Fin (20 minutes time to make device and 5 minutes for presentation (for each individual))

In this participants will be given a list of components or equipment and theories based on which they would have to come up with an invention (fun and crazy) and sell it to the panel.

Judgement criteria:

How creative and how bizarre it is.

For how much money the invention was sold to the panel.

TIE BREAKER: (5 minutes per each contestant)

Each participant is asked to choose 1 out of the 6 topics and 10 questions are asked.

Whoever wins will be declared as the OPTIMIS OMNIUM student in electronics of the year.

Clarification on the wild card: After every round, a question is displayed and the eliminated participants can answer it before the ongoing round completes. The winners are added to the game in the next round.

Note : If none has answered then no one is allowed as Wild card in the next round. (Sorry, Folks !)
