This first of its kind event in Bengaluru makes a conscious effort to keep its carbon footprint to a minimum – Nandi Habba is a 100% plastic and litter-free celebration of Bengaluru’s favourite getaway. Come on down for a truly native experience and an opportunity to enjoy local foods, drinks, arts, culture, games and sports.

Ideally suited as an outing for the entire family, the walk will introduce many of the birds,
butterflies, ants, trees and plants of Nandi Hills. A lot of them can be seen in our city as well.
The walk will focus on stories about them, their relationship to other creatures and their role
in our environment. We will observe common birds, insects and other seldom observed
smaller creatures that we may come across during the walk, apart from trees and plants.
This walk will help you get a perspective on natural history to further develop your interest in
wildlife photography, travel writing, and nature sketching. You will learn basic identification
skills, observation techniques, and a wealth of information that will help you put a name to
various animals and plants.
Do you find history fascinating? Then you will love the Nandi Heritage Walk. An ancient
fortress of Tipu Sultan, temples designed by the artistic Chola empire and more – this
region is adorned with relics and monuments that celebrate a bygone era. Led by local and
Bengaluru based historians, the walks are themed around Cornwallis & Tipu: The Sultan &
the British in Battle, Ancient Bhoganandishwara Temple – India’s Centuries Old Heritage
Meets Modernity and Nandi Hills Summit: The Legacy of a Hill Fortress. These walks narrate
history with a local flavour and emphasise on the micro-history of the Nandi Hills and how
it interplays with large historical themes.
