Music Learning Workshop for Zohoites
Specially curated Music Learning Workshop to embrace music as a part of your life. As a part of this program, you will be learning how to play an instrument, and also hone your communication and collaboration skills by playing together as a band!
This 8-weeks workshop is brought to you by Manoke, in collaboration with Musee Musical.
Program Objectives
Over the course of the program, students are expected to:
1.Learn to play a musical instrument of their choice (keyboard or guitar)
2.Think like a musician – understand the basic concepts behind how a song is created
3.Play together, in collaboration with other musicians
Program Deliverables
1.Learners will be expected to join a 60-90 minutes session with a mentor every week (Saturday)
2.There will be homework and practice lessons provided, which will be discussed in the subsequent session
3.The grand finale will be a band performance, with each student playing his/ her chosen part
Program Activities
Over the 8 weeks, students will be introduced to playing a musical instrument in solo and also in a group setting. Learners will also be provided with access to the Manoke App for practice
1.Pick your favourite song and learn the elements that make it up – Melody, Scale, Rhythm and Chords
2.Listening is an essential skill in music learning. Students will be able to identify the different parts, instruments, the mood of a song (or melody) and the structure on which the melody is written
3.Tune your ears to understand all the intricate details on how the different components of a song should sound
4.Playing music – learners will be taught a sense of rhythm, playing melody or accompanying on an instrument and learning the chords
5.Playing in a band – Students will be advised to choose the part of a song they wish to play, listen and practice their part individually. The next step will be to practice and play with other parts. In the end, all students will play together as a band
