I am offering a place of reverie, revelry and relevant discussion on writing about transdisciplinary cultures in a convergent world. This is for a cohort of up to 10 people.
The session as I see it would broadly comprise:
- a 5-minute introduction of participants - these could be emerging or established practitioners across creative fields or a non-practising enthusiast who wishes to reconnect with their creativity
- a 15-minute speaker delivery on the changing landscape of arts and culture in convergence, the new written vocabulary it demands, the job of the writer and artist to reconnect these dots as a shared language of empathy and building a collective discourse bridging humanity and technology. This would include practical examples from experience and how to tread tricky territories in writing reports and papers, personal essays, literary interviews, travelogues, critiques, creative non-fiction and poetry
- a 20-minute dialogue allowing all of the participants to discuss their perspectives and exchange thoughts, concerns and specific queries
- a fun 10-minute exercise to attempt a creative piece (video, audio or written) from a given prompt that combines the arts, film, music, literature, design and technology
- a 10-minute sharing of these works and a conclusive takeaway for each participant. wine and coffee are most welcome on screen!
