Kareri Trek (Dharamshala)

Kareri Lake is a high altitude, shallow, freshwater lake south of the Dhauladhar range approximately 9 km North West of Dharamsala in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. Its surface is 2934 meters above the sea level. Snow melting from the Dhauladhar range serves as the source of the lake and a stream, Nyund is the outflow. Since the source is fresh melting snow and the lake is shallow, water visibility is very high and in most places, the lake bed can be seen.

Itinerary 

DAY 1 Kareri village to Riyoti

• Drive | Transfer to Kareri village from Dharamshala (1-2 Hrs)

• Trekking | Kareri village to Riyoti Camp via Kareri village (4-5 hours)

DAY 2 Riyoti to Kareri Lake

• Trekking | Riyoti Camp to Kareri Lake (2934M) (2-3 hours)

• Explore around | Overnight Stay in Tents

DAY 3 Kareri Lake to  Kareri village

• Trekking | Kareri Lake to  Kareri village (5-6 Hrs)

• Drive | Drive back to Dharamshala (1-2 Hrs)

Itinerary 

1st Day: Dharamshala -Shahpur - Drini village- Salli village.

Lunch at Salli village - Kareri village- stay at Langha village

The first day will be on Bullets.

 

2nd Day: Trek starts from Langha village towards Kareri lake.

Lunch on Midway, stay at Kareri lake

 

3rd Day: Breakfast and trek starts back to Dharamshala on bikes

All breakfast lunch dinner.
