Kalimpong Half Marathon

Every year, on 1st May, Run with Roshni Foundation is organizing Kalimpong Half Marathon since 2015. We select top three boys and three girls to the team from Kalimpong Half marathon. Foundation will sponsor the winners of Kalimpong Half Marathon to run Mumbai marathon in January 2019.

Tentative Plan for the runners coming from outside Darjeeling 
and Kalimpong are as follows;

1st day plan
On 29th April- Runners will check into Damsang Guest House in Pedong. It is 120km away from Bagdogra Airport and New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway station. Travel time from airport / railway station is 3hrs to 3hrs 30mins. One can reach Pedong before 29th April as well. Do let us know for room booking.

2nd day plan
30th April - Runners can take rest and acclimatize or one may choose to reach Pedong on 30th April.

3rd day plan
On 1st May, runners from Pedong will be transported to Kalimpong at 5;30am. It is 50mins Journey. Half marathon will start at 6:30am.

4th day plan
Runners may return back on 2nd May or if they are interested for local sightseeing or Kalimpong Village Discovery Tour, do let us know.

Registration fee for local runners;
For students its only Rs.200/- and for others its Rs.1000/-

Important things:

• Runners should book their flight / train tickets on their own. There is no direct flight to Darjeeling from Mumbai/ Bangalore.
• Flights are either via Delhi or Kolkata, with minimum of 1hr layover.
• This marathon is to select the best local runners from Darjeeling, whom ‘Run with Roshni Foundation’ will support to run Mumbai Half Marathon in January, 2018.
• Terrain is tough, and one should not expect to do personal best in this route.
• Please book your flight tickets and confirm your seat for Kalimpong Half Marathon through online registration.
• Registration fees for runners from outside Darjeeling, who are travelling alone is Rs. 5000/- (five thousand only), which includes three days stay and food in Damsang Guest House or other home stay in Pedong plus arranging support for Kalimpong Half Marathon. One room will be shared by two runners.
• Registration fees for runners from outside Darjeeling coming with family is Rs. 10000/- (Ten thousand only) which includes three days stay and food in Pedong plus arranging support for Kalimpong Half Marathon and transportation of family members of runner to Kalimpong from Pedong and back on 1st May, 2017.
• Registration fees for runners without accommodation booking is Rs. 1000/- (One thousand only).
• Though all the rooms in Damsang Guest house & all the home stay in Pedong has attached bathrooms with basic facilities, standard of room will depend on the first come first serve basis, which means the runners who does the early registration will get the room with good view.
• Runners opting for Kalimpong Village Discovery Tour or local sightseeing after the Kalimpong Half Marathon has to make payment directly to the tour operator.
  Only participation certificate & finish medals will be provided. Finish time will be recorded manually.
• Main object of this marathon is to inspire local youths of Darjeeling to participate in marathons.
  
  Half marathon will start at 6am and reporting time is 5:30am in Kalimpong.
  Altitude of Kalimpong is 4101 ft and Pedong is 4500ft
