About the Artist
Yakir Hillel
Renowned Banjo player and songwriter Yakir Hillel hails from Israel. Translating banjo, an American instrument, into his own style of playing, his music is a culmination of both the West and the East. Rich with hypnotizing sounds and desert colours, he has released multiple albums with his band and as a solo artist. Right before his next release, Yakir makes a stop at New Delhi to collaborate in a unique jugalbandi.
Ujjwal Kumar
With a 16 year old experience in live performances, Ujjwal Kumar is a percussionist from New Delhi. Classically trained in tabla, he has transformed his skills to other percussion instruments. Bringing to you a unique experience of the ‘Ghatam’, he is one of the very few percussionists in the world to have developed a fusion style with this Carnatic instrument.
