GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP & INNOVATION PROGRAM

This is an intensive one-week pre-college university level course, exposing high school students to the theory and practice of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In this program, students are guided through the new venture creation process applying it to their own original ideas by Columbia Business School Faculty.

In this course, students will develop the ability to see the world with an entrepreneurial eye, looking for their next great opportunity in their own ideas. Because having an idea isn't enough, you need to know how to bring your ideas to life. That's why this course provides the necessary practical and applicable techniques to test and develop their ideas. These techniques are used by successful entrepreneurs all over the world, skills that took many of them years to develop, but that you will be exposed to before you enter college!

Dr. Jack McGourty 
Dr. Jack McGourty Ph.D. is the Director of Community and Global Entrepreneurship at the Columbia Business School. Over the past 15 years, he has been an active member of the University's entrepreneurial community, establishing and undergraduate minor in entrepreneurship, teaching core and advanced courses in entrepreneurship and real life skill development.

Daniel McQuade 
Daniel, Director, Venture for All, Columbia Business School, is a specialist in Branding and Marketing. He is a marketing counselor for the Columbia- Harlem Small Business Development Centre on marketing and branding to new business entrepreneurs and expanding small business ventures at Columbia Business School.

Manoj Pooleery 
Manoj Pooleery, Director-Technology, Business Development & Entrepreneurship, Center for Computational Learning Systems, Columbia University, Columbia Business School, acting as Technology Mentor to student entrepreneurs from the Launching New Ventures (LNV) class, advising on all technology aspects of the ventures, appropriate tools, cost to create the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), schedule and smooth functioning of all research projects.

* Any one of the above faculty members would be conducting the course.
