About Dr Ramani Goa Marathon

Annual event. Held on first Sunday of November in the city of Ponda, Goa. The climate in the first week of November is cool and pleasant. Route of marathon is filled with villages, palm groves, fields, and glimpse of Ponda city and close to Zuari river.

Smt. Ahilyabai Ramani Pratishthan, a social organization instituted by Dr P S Ramani to create awareness on wellness with good physical and mental health, sponsors the marathon and is organized by enthusiastic runners from Ponda- the Antruz runners of Ponda. It is a social event with a social message meant to create social awareness on physical health.

2019 edition will be 18th edition of the marathon and now, it has become a prestigious sports activity in Goa.

For all the registered participants:

BIB with timed chip
T-shirt (T-shirt is a sponsored item and will be distributed till the stock lasts).
Plenty of water, energy drink and energy food like, oranges, watermelon, dry fruits, etc, first aid facilities, provision of two ambulances, and a medical team.
A large suit on the ground with plenty of physiotherapists serves the runners in need after the run on the ground. Police help and traffic control helps smooth running for the competitors.
A healthy breakfast is given to all the runners and attractive cash prizes for the winners.

Presence of several dignitaries bring glamour to the event and Genevive Coutinho’s band playing Zumba in rhythm bring pleasure along with warm up and cool down for the runners.

A large number of volunteers mann the ground and the route effectively. All in all, Dr Ramani Goa Marathon is a pleasurable journey.

Chip time (Time when you cross the start gate) will be honored for calculating runners’ time.

Important points regarding the Marathon

1. Discount for Group Registration:

Group Discount

11-20 runners 10%

21-24 runners 20%

25 or more runners 25%

Winners of 2018 DRGM marathon in 21k, 10k only will get 10% discount

2. Chip Time will be final to declare the winners

3. Runners are requested to observe 4m distance from the timing gate after finishing the marathon, to avoid recording again their bib number and erroneous results.
