CARDIOTHON - Run for Heart 2022

Somehow in our daily routine, we ignore our health, but its value is understood only when we suffer from any health issue. We have become victims to sedentary lifestyle. According to recent studies, one must walk at least 10000 steps daily to maintain a healthy body. And the key to maintain a healthy body is to have a healthy heart. Furthermore, the World Heart Federation is celebrating this year's World Heart Day with the motto – use heart for every heart.

Keeping this in mind, Swasthyam Superspeciality Hospital is organizing “Cardiothon 2022” at VNIT Campus (Bajaj Nagar Gate), Nagpur on Sunday, Sep 25, 6 AM onwards.

The objective of this marathon is to create awareness about cardiovascular risks among young population, as well as motivate people to maintain overall fitness by walking or running every day. Moreover, it is a common perception that people who have undergone angioplasty or cardiac surgery should not perform intensive physical activity. Thus, to shed this myth, a group of such patients will also be completing this marathon.

Cardiothon 2022 is being organised for runners aged 10 years and above with 3 different race categories - Fun Walk (2.5 km), Healthy Run (5 km) and Hearty Run (10 km). Only the 5 km and 10 km runs are timed, and every participant will get a T-Shirt, Finisher’s Medal, goodie bag, e-certificate and winners will also get rewards. Special prizes for eldest male/female/couple, heart themed fancy dress as well as maximum participants from a single family.
