Where India meets South-East Asia!
We know all about the myriad influences other cultures have had on India. But we know little of how India, in turn, has influenced other cultures. The greatest influence is visible in south-east Asia where Hinduism left its mark on three great empires – Champa, Sri Vijaya and Khmer. The Khmer especially built some of the greatest temples in the world, including the world’s largest religious building - the Angkor Wat. But temples aren’t all there is to Cambodia. There is the mighty Mekong and the timelessness of life along its banks. The French colonial period and its hybrid culture. The turbulent, even violent, times of the Khmer Rouge...take a week off to see the architectural, cultural and natural beauty of the country.
