Why should you be a part of this leaning activity?
India is the capital of Diabetes with a sharp rise in the number of patients
in the last two decades. Many reasons may be attributed for this including
westernisation, life style changes due to advanced technology, quality of fool,
mind set of people, urbanisation and so on. As the number of patients keeps
inflating the social and familial burden also keeps increasing. As a result the
workload of medical and paramedical professionals also keeps growing and now,
there is a state where the supply is so deficient compared to the demand. Though
the number of prototype diabetic clinics have gone up drastically even in very less
renowned towns of India the purpose is less served. The major flaws of present
day diabetic clinics are that they are very costly, unnecessary procedures are
carried out in the name of routine checkups and the time spent by individual
medical worker with a patient is quiet less and hence they are not empowered
with the knowledge of diabetes.
Though this course we enable physiotherapist to set up diabetic clinics by
educating them regarding the intricate things that are to be concentrated while
staring such ventures. As physiotherapists are the one who spend maximum time
with every patient as compared to any other health professional it will be quite
easy for a physiotherapist who turns out as an diabetic educator too, to start a Diabetic Clinic.
