Meraki 4.1: Dehradun-Dhanaulti-Dehradun

During this ride, you will experience the elevations and off-road cycling with a speedy downhill combination. Let's improve our riding skills by riding in the hills again.

Dehradun is made up of two words: 'Dehra' is derived from the word "dera", deriving from "griha" and meaning home. "Dun" or "Doon" is a term for the valley that lies between the Himalayas and the Shivaliks. The district contains Rajaji National Park which is home to several elephants, Benog Wildlife Sanctuary at Mussoorie & Asan Conservation Reserve (Asan Barrage). The Doon Valley has the Terai and Bhabar forests within it as well as the Shivalik hills and Lesser Himalayan Range containing hill stations such as Mussoorie and Dhanaulti.

Dhanaulti is situated at an altitude of 2286m and is known for its quiet environs amidst the alpine forests of Deodar, Rhododendron, and Oak. ECO-Park is the main attraction of Dhanaulti. There are two Eco-parks, "Amber" and "Dhara" about 200 m apart. It has been developed recently by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand with the help of local youth. The adventure sports facility is available for visitors in the form of walking over the flying fox and Burma bridges and riding horses. There is also a facility for visitors to plant a sapling of tree species in the memory of their beloved, which is called as memory sapling plantation.

Everyone needs to reach the hotel latest by 16:00. Post-check-in, a briefing of route details, Q&A session will be done followed by tea and later on dinner at night. The whole reason for calling riders a day prior to the ride is that the riders can have a rejuvenating sleep before the next day's climb on the mountains.

Day 2: Dehradun to Dhanaulti | 65Kms

The ride will start from Hotel Dehradun to Dhanaulti which is 60kms. Our team coordinator will be available at the starting point. You will be introduced to the on-ground team that will be providing you the hydration, nutrition, medical and technical support during the entire ride.

Post completion of the day 1 ride, we will check-in at the Hotel. After enjoying the welcome drinks you can freshen up and relax in your room till the time the dinner is served. Post dinner, you can retire in your cozy beds for a sound sleep to face the challenges for the next day.

Today we will cover about 95 km. The ride will start from Dhanaulti and we will take an off-road route via Kaddukhal, Maldevta back to Dehradun. Hydration/ Technical Support vehicle meeting will be meeting you on the route as and when needed. Once you reach the hotel, enjoy your welcome drink. Temporary rooms will be provided for freshen up and changing the clothes, which will be commonly shared by the riders. We will enjoy evening Tea and have an Achievement Gifts Distribution ceremony along with a delicious dinner. Post, we will leave for our sweet homes with lots of memories and a sense of achievement with us.
